The UK Motherlode Light is an exclusive design made by Camelbak from the MOD suggestions. It offers the same material used as the Motherlode 500 but its features are reduced greatly to lighten the load even more. It has a smaller waist belt, which can be removed . All the internal compartments have been reduced or removed. This version was designed to be as light as possible. The original motherlode has been re-designed for day pack and patrol use. It has an updated Air Director Back Panel, 500D Cordura and reinforced webbing that gives the Motherlode 500 the needed durability and functionality needed in the field. In order to increase the practicality of the pack, the waist belt has been removed to reduce the number of buckles and straps that can catch and snag, also making air and road vehicle travel easier and more comfortable. By adjusting the shoulder straps, the pack is designed to wear over body armour, especially the in-service osprey body armour. The re-resigned lumbar region of the pack not only provides the back with increased support, but also maximizes airflow and ventilation to reduce body heat.
